Job Description
As Fugro, we provide marine geotechnical services which are essential to mitigate risks and reduce costs for our clients to design and build for example offshore windfarms.
As an intern on our Geotechnical Engineering Team, you assist the Senior Geotechnical Engineers with the site characterization for structures in and on the seabed. At our office in Nootdorp, you will learn to evaluate the test data and compile all results into a report for our clients.
On top of this, we provide you with the opportunity to go offshore. On one of our geotechnical vessels, you will learn and experience how to acquire data, perform laboratory tests, and collect and process soil samples.
At Fugro, you find yourself in an international and dynamic team with experience in coaching civil engineering students. This creates an environment where you can develop yourself both personally and professionally.
Your role

You manage the work around the process of acquiring, analysing, engineering, and interpreting geotechnical data in order to provide accurate and customised services to our clients;

You provide geotechnical advice independently in contexts which are straightforward;

and in more complex situations you work on solutions to clients together with more Senior Geotechnical Engineers by putting acquired geotechnical data into context;

You evaluate the test results, perform engineering analyses, and compile all results into a high-quality report for our clients;

Optional: You work offshore on a wide range of projects in Europe with a variety in character, scale, and complexity.
Position Requirements
-
HBO Civil Engineering, interest in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering
-
Interest in soil investigation, soil mechanics and foundation engineering
-
A team player that likes to contribute to and learn from real life international projects
-
Good communication skills in both oral and written English.

Willing to travel and work in an offshore environment
What we offer
We offer you a fixed monthly compensation during your internship. In addition, you get the opportunity to improve your professional skills within an international organization. From experience we know that many interns tend to stay at Fugro after their graduation. Under mutual agreement we can add a research component to the internship.
