Buket Yenigul (Allseas)
"Introduction to Innovations Geotechnical Unit at Allseas "
About the speaker
Ms. Dr. Buket Yenigul is an expert in soil and rock mechanics, particularly in modelling of rock and soil cutting for dredging and deep sea mining, geostatistics, geohydrology, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling with over 15 years of experience in these fields. She specializes in Numerical and Analytical modelling with experimental and field experience. She has worked on many applied research projects and consultancy related to modelling of rock and soil cutting for shallow and deep water conditions, slope stability analysis for dredging and wet mining, stochastic modelling, and groundwater and contaminant transport modelling.
Before moving to the Netherlands in 1998 for her second MSc on Engineering Geology and PhD at Delft University, she has worked for private consultancy and also for the bank of provinces in Turkey and was in charge of geotechnical and hydrogeological site investigation, laboratory testing, reporting and recommendation. During this time she obtained her first MSc in Hydrological Engineering. After completing her PhD in 2006 she started to work for IHC Merwede in the Netherlands as an applied research engineer for rock and soil cutting, dredging and wet mining activities with focus on soil and rock behaviour and environmental aspects. In
2014, she joined Allseas, an offshore pipeline and subsea construction company. She works, up to date, as Senior R&D Engineer at Innovations Geotechnical Unit. She provides geotechnical consultancy and performs research for offshore pipeline and subsea construction projects. Modeling of interaction between soil, rock and tool; Foundation analysis for subsea structures, trenching, start-up pile proposals and coaching junior geotechnical engineers and supervising Master of Science graduate projects are some of her daily activities.
